This was told me by the Lord a few days ago. Israel ruled the heathen because of the presence of the Lord with them, causing them to subdue their enemies. For example,  the surrounding nations became very fearful of them after they heard about the plagues of Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s destruction at the Red Sea. This fear intensified after the river Jordan was parted by Joshua, allowing the people to cross over from the wilderness and into the Promised Land.

Their dominion of the heathen was shown as Joshua and the people warred against them, taking their territory captive. Why was the dominion important? God was angry at the wicked since they  were devil worshippers and corrupted the land by blood as they killed their children in sacrifices to these devils.  He wanted a people in the earth to exemplify the worship and relationship with their Creator and subdue the devil.

Whenever Israel sinned against God, they would be subdued by their enemies. Therefore, the believer who wants to fulfill this mandate in the earth must learn to walk in relationship with God in order to maintain ruler-ship. Blessings!
