I awoke on Monday 19th January at 12.30 am and was instructed to read Joshua 4 http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Jos&c=4&v=1&t=KJV#top.  The chapter recorded the miraculous crossing of the Jordan by the Jews. Even as  I wrote today, I immediately saw the  relationship between the crossing of the Jordan and the crossing of the American people into a new era. Today is the celebration of  Prophet Martin Luther King Jr, the visionary who prophesied about the deliverance of the African American.

The instruction to cross the JOrdan came from the leader Joshua, who had instructed the priests to enter the river bearing the ark of the Lord:

And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;

And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,

That the waters which came down from above stood [and] rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that [is] beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, [even] the salt sea, failed, [and] were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho

And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan. (Josh 3: 14-17).

Joshua 4: 14 recorded that “on that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.”

As I read and meditated on the record, I began to see several truths about the “church in the wilderness” (Acts 7: 38). The prominent truth was  that  the priests received their instructions from both Apostles Moses and Joshua. The Lord then spoke the following words to me:

God is calling Apostles. The Apostle is the highest order of leadership and authority in the church. Church growth as a body is stunted because there is a need for Apostles to train the Body of Christ. People are stunted because they are stuck in titles. Christ said through His Apostle that every man should prove his own ministry, not titles (Galatians 6:4). The Body of Christ is stunted because the the Apostles are not growing up into the measure of the fullness of the stature of Christ. Too many titles and quest for power.

I shall redeem my church, says the Lord, but it shall take a shaking and a purging before it can walk fully in my ways. Amen. Amen.

Blessings and have a great day! More on this later.
