I’ ve been exploring the usage of the word “kalos” which Jesus used when He spoke of the “good” ground in Luke 8: 15:

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare  fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience (Lk 8: 8, 15)

To conclude, if you received the gospel, you are also good ground if you are characterized by the following:

  • you make prayers and intercessions for those in authority. Apostle Paul said that this is good (kalos) and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior (1 Tim 2 :1-3)
  • if you desire good/kalos works in the church such as the office of a Bishop (once qualified) – 1 Tim 3: 1
  • people outside of the body of Christ give you a good/kalos  report (1 Tim 3: 7)
  • Good/kalos  ministers remind the believers about the faith and good doctrine, avoiding seducing spirits and doctrines of devils (1 Tim 4: 1-6)
  • you do  good works (1 Tim 5: 25; 6: 18)
  • you are a good soldier who fights the good fight of faith (1 Tim 2: 3,7)

We are blessed in everything we do if  we  walk in the good/kalos ways of the Lord our God!
