Jesus returned to Jerusalem after overnighting in Bethany

He saw a fig tree and approached it in order to pick the fruit, but the tree had only flowers

Jesus cursed the tree ((Mt 21: 19; Mk 11: 1-12)

He entered the temple and taught the people (Mt 21; Mt 22)

Jesus prophesies to the people that their generation would be judged for the killings of righteous men and prophets from the time of Abel to Zechariah the son of Berachias.

They would also add to the credit (fill up the measure) of their forefathers by killing Him

The religious leaders are highly offended at Him and continue their plot to kill Him by any means possible (Mt 21: 44; Mk 11: 1 – 18)

He leaves the temple
