1. Florida Pastor threatens to burn the Quran

Controversy has been boiling for a few days over the proposed burning of the Quran by Reverend Terry Jones, Pastor of   Dove World Outreach Center, a  church in Gainesville, Florida.  Political and religious commentary has swirled around the issue, more so in light of the potential threat for troops and American citizens as Muslims retaliate.

2. My response to Pastor Jones’ proposal to burn the Quran

I do not agree that the Pastor should burn the Quran

I join the call to ask him to CEASE  his plans in light of the potential response from angry Muslims.

Christians should use the invisible spiritual weapons of God to reduce the threat of  Muslim radicalism in the earth.

This threat will fall as the kingdoms of earth are brought under God’s authority through prayer, just as the world threat of Communism in the 20th century was subdued.

We need to realize that Muslim radicalism is the threat of  the 21st Century and a fulfillment of Revelation 13.

We need to PRAY FOR PEACE and pray for the revelation  of  Jesus Christ to our Muslim brothers and sisters.

3.  However, I could not help but see the IRONY  of the situation

On the flip side of the coin:

  • Muslims burn bibles in Muslim countries without fear of retaliation
  • Christians are persecuted in Muslim countries
  • Muslims live at peace in  non – Muslim countries like “Christian” America.
  • Mother of the Times Square  bomb suspect said in a CNN interview that he had to do what he had to do
  • Muslims were allowed to build a Mosque at New York’s Ground Zero, the site of the most horrible expression of international terrorism in the 21st century.

4. Should Christians retaliate with aggression to Muslim radicalism?

No. Jesus promoted a non – violent response. He said that we should rejoice and be exceedingly glad because the prophets were persecuted in the same manner.

But does He mean that we should roll over and become willing victims?  No.  Jesus deposed the kingdom of darkness by casting out satan’s strongholds.  We will see results when the Church begins to pray boldly and take authority against this spirit of aggression.

Please support organizations like Voice of the Martyrs as they help the persecuted Christians around the world.  Your reward will be great in heaven.
