We have been speaking about the Nazarites and learnt in the previous post that Jesus was a Nazarite. In this post I will make comparisons between Jesus and the Priests.

Tribe of Levi was separated to the Ministry of the Priesthood (Numbers 8: 5 – 11) Minister in the heavenly tabernacle (Hebrews 8)
Entered the Ministry of the Priesthood at age 30 (Numbers 4: 3; 23; 30; 35; 39; 43; 47; 1 Chronicles 23: 3) Entered public ministry shortly before His 30th birthday (Luke 3: 23)
Ordained in an anointing service of oil and blood  (Leviticus 8) Was anointed by the Holy Spirit  (Luke 3: 21 & 22; Luke 4: 18;  Acts 10: 38)
Served from age 30 – 50 in the Ministry of the Priesthood  (Numbers 4: 3; 23; 30; 35; 39; 43; 47) Priest forever  (Hebrews 7: 17 & 23)
Could not minister in the office of the Priest if he had blemishes or imperfections (Leviticus 21: 17 – 24) Sinless (Hebrews 7: 26)
Had to adhere to guidelines of cleanliness before offering or eating sacrifices (Leviticus 22) Sinless (Hebrews 7: 26)
Had to make sacrifices for his own sins and those of the nation  (Hebrews 7: 26 – 28) Offered one sacrifice for our sins   (Hebrews 7: 26 – 28)
