God Is Very Grieved With The Sins Of Homosexuality And Lesbianism

Yesterday we learnt that God judges nations by causing the land to vomits out its inhabitants when homosexuality and lesbianism are practiced.  As the land becomes defiled or horribly unclean with the sin, the stench reaches to heaven. The  nation howls  with a great cry as the oppressed cry out hopelessly for mercy.

The scriptures reveal that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah were “very grievous” to the Holy God and that those cities were destroyed like garbage. Nations that rebel against God’s laws and advance the ‘gay” rights movement  therefore become fair target for judgment from God.

Do we understand how God feels about homosexuality and lesbianism?

God is not only seriously nauseated and disgusted with homosexuality and lesbianism, but He also experiences heavy grief and disturbance about  the issue, having no rest in His Spirit until the matter is corrected:

But the men of Sodom [were] wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly (Gen 13: 13)

And the LORD said… the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know (Genesis 18: 20 & 21).

What is the meaning of “grievous” in the text?

Kabad (H3513)    is the Hebrew word used in the text for grievous.  Its usage in scripture describes how God felt about the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah. The sin:

  • laid heavily on the Lord God, just as in the days before the flood when God became grieved that He had made man. As a result, He planned to judge them severely – Exodus 5: 9; 1 Samuel 5: 6.
  • the nations lost favor with God as his heart became hardened against them as a result of their rebellion
  • God wanted to avenge the sin, to “get … honor”, to show the people who was in charge. His reaction was the same as when Pharoah rebelled against Him – Exodus 14: 18
  • God wanted to prevail against those sinful nations – Judges 1: 35
  • The sin vexed God sorely – it harassed Him – Judges 20: 34
  • God felt He had to take responsibility for correcting the sin because there was no one in the earth who was “chargeable” – 2 Samuel 13: 25
  • The sin and cry of the people put God under heavy emotional pressure, a kind of affliction – Isaiah 9: 1
  • God wanted to be glorified in the earth when He took action against these nations and avenged their sins. He wanted His holiness to be demonstrated to nations that looked on at  the sins of  Sodom and Gomorrah. Moreover, remember that these were the main cities guilty although there were five cities engulfed by this crime against God.

Additional, the usage of  Kabad (H3513), when applied to Sodom and Gomorrah, showed that the citizens had become very hardened against the lifestyle set forth from creation and openly disrespected heaven’s ruling on the issue.  They continued daily in their sin, not realizing that God had planned evil against them.

Conclusion

As I wrote this post, the Lord gave me the adjectives that described His emotional and holy response to the sin of homosexuality and lesbianism.  This post is one of the most intimate about the inner workings of God’s Spirit or His heart.

Some of us believe that God is in heaven being very unfair by failing to allow people to do as they want.  They legalize, endorse and basically rebel against His laws. As a result, the earth reels out-of-order as Prophet Isaiah reveals:

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left (Isaiah 24: 5 & 6).

This Creation Year of 2012 shows that the Gay? (how happy are they?) rights movement is placing enormous political and emotional pressure on the leaders of nations to legalize their sexual behavior.  This is because satan in his rebellion is trying to thumb his nose in the face of the Holy God.

What should be the response of leaders? They should stand in faith on the Word of God and adhere to what is morally right. To my dismay, President Obama endorsed the behavior claiming that his daughters Malia and Sasha helped him to change his mind. I am concerned that his daughters are directly exposed to people living this heinous lifestyle and its influences.

How will the King of Heaven and Earth respond? The answer is in Psalm 2:

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying],

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust in him.

You big, powerful rulers, God will beat you and your nations if you are bad and rebel against His laws. Fear Him and not the gay (?) rights movement.

Next time – Did God hold a referendum with the citizens of earth to change His Law on Marriage?

Here is His blessing – He loves you:

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them (Numbers 6: 23 – 27).
