1. The Life of God

I got up thanking God for life and decided to study LIFE:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life (G2222 – zōē) and that they might have [it] more abundantly (John 10: 10).

The context in which Jesus spoke related to His teachings that He is the door of the sheep.  The usage of Door (G2374 – thyra)  shows that Jesus is the Protector, Deliverer, Guard and Entrance to eternal life.

In contrast, Satan the thief steals, kills and destroys those trying to enter into life, like he did to Adam and Eve.

2. HOW TO BEGIN THE STUDY

  • Zōē (G2222) is the Greek word. Click this link to find   Life (Zōē/G2222).
  • Click the numbers next to life in order to find all the texts where Life/Zōē is used.
  • All those lists at the bottom have references to “life” (G2222).
  • We can categorize, explore, compare, contrast the texts in order to discover truths about LIFE.
  • Read through the texts to get a feel of descriptions etc. related to life (G2222). These can be grouped later.

3. USE LINE ON LINE/CONTENT ANALYSIS TO DISCOVER TRUTH

Read context…match similar texts…make comparisons…explore root words…find themes/categorize…discover truths…pray.

This is studying “line upon line, precept upon precept” and “comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (Isa 28: 10 & 13; 1 Cor 2: 13).

The first texts are important because Jesus contrasted the Way of Life and the Way of Destruction:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Mt 7: 13 & 14).

Few find it

Blessings! More to come.
