Planē  (G4106) is the Greek word for error in the New Testament.  Synonyms are:

  • deceit
  • deceive
  • delusion

2. Phrases related to Error (Planē/G4106)

  • Paul said that his doctrine was not based on deceit – 1 Thessalonians 2: 3.
  • strong delusion – 2 Thessalonians 2: 11.
  • he which converts a sinner from the error of his way – James 5: 20.

3. The root word for error.

Planos (G4108) is  the root word for error. It means:

  • deceiver.
  • deceivers.
  • seducing spirits and doctrines of devils – 1 Timothy 1: 4.

A Cult teaches the doctrine of devils.

4. Highlights of  erroneous doctrines

These texts highlight the KEY areas of error false teachings:

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing (planos/G4108)   spirits, and doctrines of devils (1 Tim 4: 1).

For many deceivers (planos/G4108) are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver  (planos/G4108)  and an antichrist (2 John 1: 7).

We will see what we can discover about the spirit of the antichrist in the upcoming post. Blessings.
