Tsalach (H6743) is one of the Hebrew words used in the Old Testament for prosperity. Let us explore the usage of prosperity (tsalach/H6743) in scripture.

Prosperity means to:

 

RECEIVE FAVOR

have requests accepted – Nehemiah 1: 11.

 

FLOURISH REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES

The #LORD was with Joseph, and he was a #prosperous(tsalach) man – Genesis 39: 2.

Joseph’s “master saw that the #LORD was with him, and that the #LORD made all that he did to #prosper” (tsalach/H6743) – Gen 39: 3.

 

FLOURISH IN AN UNFAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT

 The Lord caused Joseph to #prosper (tsalach/H6743) when he was appointed as manager in prison.

 

BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS

#Blessings will #overflow to others from those who the #Lord#prospers. The LORD #blessed all Potiphar had for Joseph’s sake – Gen 39: 5

Joseph #prospered and Potiphar was so #blessed that he did not worry about his possessions – Gen 39: 6.

 

OBEY THE WORD OF GOD

The key to becoming #prosperous (tsalach) is speaking, meditating on and obeying the Word of God (Joshua 1: 8).

‘Why do you disobey the LORD’s commands? You will not prosper (tsalach).’  – 2 Chron 24: 20

 

CHANGE

Tsalach (H6743) is the word used when people came under a mighty anointing of the Holy Spirit and were enabled to perform unusual feats. Judges 14: 6,19 &15: 4.

The Spirit of the Lord come on Saul, empowering him to prophesy like the prophets – 1 Samuel 10: 6, 10 & 16.

 

RECEIVE AN ANOINTING FROM GOD/PROSPERITY IS TRANSFERABLE

The Spirit of the Lord came on David after he was #ANOINTED as king – 1 Samuel 16: 13.

 

RECEIVE RECOGNITION

After he was anointed as king, David became recognized as a man with power over demons, skilled musician, warrior, prudent. 1 Sam 16: 15 -18. Prior to that, he was just the younger son of Jesse who was disrespected by his own family.

 

SUCCEED  WITH A PLAN

Did the girl at the well fit the criteria for Isaac’s wife? Chief servant wondered if God had #prospered (tsalach/H6743) him in his quest to find Isaac a wife – Gen 24: 21.

The #LORD…will send his #angel with thee, and #prosper(tsalach/H6743) thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son – Gen 24: 40.

The servant asked Rebekah’s family to allow him to leave immediately “seeing the LORD hath #prospered (tsalach/H6743) my way” – Gen 24: 56.

Numbers 14: 40 & 41.The prophets prophesied…go up… prosper (tsalach), for the LORD shall deliver it into the king’s hand – 1 Kings 22: 12.

#Prosperity is linked with good #success (sakal) in Joshua 1: 8. Sakal = wisdom, behaving wisely, having understanding, skill, prudence.

My son, the LORD be with thee…prosper (tsalach)… build the house of the LORD thy God, as he…said. 1 Chron 22: 11.

I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will prosper/succeed in his mission – Isaiah 48: 15.

 

RECEIVE COOPERATION FROM OTHERS

Solomon ruled and #prospered. Israel obeyed him…the princes…mighty men…the sons…submitted themselves – 1 Chron 29: 24.

 

RECEIVE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHETIC WORD

Believe in the LORD your God…believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper (tsalach) – 2 Chron 20: 20.

“…my word…always produces fruit…accomplish all I want…and it will prosper/achieve the purpose for which I sent it” – Isaiah 55: 11.

 

RECEIVE HELP FROM GOD

“…as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to #prosper…And God helped him against the Philistines.” 2 Chron 26: 5 & 7.

“The God of heaven, he will prosper (tsalach) us; therefore we his servants will arise and build” – Nehemiah 2: 20.

“…and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper (tsalach) – 2 Chron 26: 5.

” …he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered (tsalach) – 2 Chron 31: 21

” …he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered (tsalach) – 2 Chron 31: 21.

O LORD, do save, we beseech You; O LORD, we beseech You, do send prosperity! – Psalm 118: 25.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper/prevail/succeed – Isaiah 54: 17.

LORD, you always give me justice…So let me bring you this complaint: Why are the wicked so prosperous? Jer 12: 1.

 

BE PRODUCTIVE 

“he shall be like a tree…his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (tsalach)” – Psalm 1: 3.

“…don’t worry about evil people who prosper (tsalach) or fret about their wicked schemes” – Psalm 37: 7.

 

RECEIVE FORGIVENESS

People who conceal their sins will not prosper (tsalach), but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy – Proverbs 28: 13.
