Review of the walk with God

Archangel Gabriel asked me to write on Mary’s walk with God.  We discovered in scriptures that Mary was “highly favoured ” by God.  This was an exceptional favor shown to her by God because of the quality of her character and the nature of her relationship or walk with God:

The angel came in unto her and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured  (Charitoō/G5487), the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women – Luke 1: 26.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made (Charitoō/G5487) us accepted (Charitoō/G5487) in thebeloved   (agapaō/G25) – Eph 1: 6.

We also discovered from Charis, the root word for favoured  (Charitoō/G5487), that “grace” is a synonym for favor.  We examined the meaning of grace in the Old Testament using Noah as an example and discovered that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord because he “walked (halak) with God”:

But Noah found grace (chen/H2580) in the eyes of the LORD.

Noah was a just man [and] perfect in his generations, and Noah walked (halak) with God (Gen 6: 8 & 9)

We discovered from  Halak (H1980), that people who walk with God have hearts that seek after God in an uncommon way. They excel their peers in seeking after  God.

God becomes pleased with people who walk with Him (Hebrews 11) and gives them fringe benefits of that relationship.  For example, Enoch never died; Noah and his entire family were saved from the Flood; Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were visited live by God and guided by Angels;  Daniel was saved from lions to name a few.

Heaven is opened  to those who  walk with God

I believe the scriptures were also literal when reporting about people who “walked with God.” Walking with God is a restoration of  the Pre – Fall relationship that Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 3: 18 reports that Adam and his wife fled from the Lord when the heard the “voice of the Lord walking in the Garden in the cool of the day. ”  Father called out to ask Adam his whereabouts, as if He did not know!  Hearing the voice of God and going to His Presence are critical elements of walking.

Mary manifested response to the voice and request of the Lord in her words, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” – Luke 1: 38.

Mary was so highly favored by God that the Lord Himself visited her to announce the birth of the Messiah through her  and to cause the miracle to come to pass.  Subsequent to that visit, her Joseph received angelic visitations through three dreams. The favor of God was also extended to him by his obedience to the Word of the Lord.

The greatest miracle is that Mary was given the unique opportunity of  living with the Son of God 24 hours a day – 7 days a week and 365 days for 30 years.  What would she tell us about His life  she were alive today?

She certainly was one of the first to see the unusual creative power that He possessed. She became such a believer in God that she told the servants at the Wedding in Cana to do whatever He tells you. Next thing we know, He is telling them to fill the waterpots with water and hey…. they got the best wine!

Mary lived with the miraculous.  This is the life of the one who walks with God.

Blessings and peace. Amen.
