How old is the earth?

We have seen that God created the earth in 7 days and that He began to count earth time from Day 1 of creation. Age of the earth can therefore be deduced from the scriptures.  Some time ago, I did some calculations and came up with the following  data.

Methodology for calculating the age of the earth

a. I calculated the age of  humans whose life spans were recorded in scripture

b. This is because the age of earth parallels that of  the first humans created on the earth

c.  Adam to Jacob’s entry to Egypt = 2238 years.

d. Jacob’s year of entry to the year of the  Exodus =2238 + 430 = 2668

e. Wandered in the wilderness = 40 + 2668 = 2708

f. Joshua = 30 years + 2708 = 2738

g. Period of the judges = 450 years + 2738 = 3188  (Acts 13: 18 – 22)

i. King  Saul to the  destruction of Jerusalem/exile into Babylon= 3188 + 514 years = 3702

h. Babylon to birth of Christ = 586 years + 3702 = 4288

i. Birth of  Christ to us = 4288 + 2010=

The approximate age of earth is 6298. Hip Hip hoorah!!

Christ to 2010 6298 Earth is about 6298 years old

On 28th March 2015 at 1.12 am, Archangel Michael asked me, “when did the earth enter its sixth millennium?”

The answer is:   “Earth entered its 6th millennium in 1712″

  • if 6298 – 6000 = 298
  • then 2010 – .298 = 1712 and
  • 4288 (birth of Christ) + 1712 = 6000
  • OR 6000 – 4288 birth of   Christ = 1712
  • the millennium ends in 2712
  • 2015 is the 303rd year of this millennium = third day of creation – doubled = planting seeds, productivity, growth, abundance, provision of food for the next generation, good nutrition. The YEAR OF THE HARVEST AND ABUNDANCE.

Events in history – Adam may have rebelled in the 60th years of life as suggested by outbreaks in human history in the 60s:

  • Historical Events  in 1712
    • Swedish calendar moved from 29 to 20 days of February
    • Apr 06   On this day in history slave revolt in New York – April is new season and 6=man
    • Apr 06   In the year 1712 slave revolt in NY
    • Apr 07   Slave revolt (NYC) on this day in history.
    • July 20th – the Riot Act is passed in Great Britain

1. God has NOT changed His eternal Law On Marriage between a man and woman

Citizens of the earth have violated God’s eternal law which decrees that marriage is ONLY between a man and a woman. Humans have changed the everlasting covenant and have legalized and practiced same – sex unions, becoming very bold in this century about their practices.  Males are even becoming pregnant!?!!!

There are even gay churches!  I happened across a video on YouTube in which they claimed to be getting the spirit. This is NOT the Holy Spirit of God. Demons are experts at playing church – they used to be church members in heaven!

However, God HAS NEVER revoked the laws on male – female marriage.

2. Jesus reaffirmed that marriage was between a man and woman

Jesus confirmed during His life on earth that marriage is between a man and a woman.

3. Jesus condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah

This one is for the so-called gay churches of satan which worship in the name of the Lord Jesus.  Did you know that Jesus condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in His ministry on earth?  He did so while reproving the Jews who would fail to receive the preachers He sent out.

He instructed the disciples to shake off the dust of the cities that rejected the gospel and warned that they would receive a worse condemnation on the day of judgment than the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah  – “It shall be more tolerable  for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

4. Lord Jesus said that the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah went to hell

Tolerable ” has a root word which carries the meaning of suffer.  Lord Jesus revealed here  that hell has different degrees of torment and that the Jews who received the gospel would suffer greater degrees of torment than the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.

In 2006, I met an angel who told me that hell has ten dimensions. I am embarrassed to confess that I was ignorant and argued, not realizing at the time who I was talking to!  Confession is good for the soul!

It would shock the members of gay churches and the Gay Rights Movement to know that they have no rights in the eyes of heaven.

Lord Jesus’ words in scriptures reveal that the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah went to hell when they died.  His message was so outstanding that Matthew, Mark and Luke quoted the Lord:

But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all  (Luke 17: 29)

But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city  (Luke 10: 12).

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city (Mk 6: 11).

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee (Mt 11: 24).

4. What did Jesus mean by the DAY OF JUDGMENT?

When Jesus spoke of the Judgment, He used the Greek word krisis  (G2920).  The judgment of the sinner differs from that of  the righteous. Therefore the scriptures reveal the terrible judgment  or krisis  (G2920) for those who rebel against God:

  • the damnation of hell and darkness will be their fate along with the angels that fell- Matthew 23: 33; 2 Peter 2: 4
  • they will receive eternal damnation  – Matthew 3: 29
  • they will be reproved and condemned for their sins – John 3: 19; Jn 16: 18
  • since the Prince of the world will be cast out, sinners will have no one to pimp for them – Jn 8: 16
  • the sinner will fearfully  anticipate the fiery indignation of hell. Remember the rich man in hell? –  Hebrews 10: 27; Luke 16
  • sinners will receive no mercy from God – James 2: 13

God loves you and is not willing for you to perish eternally in hell. I encourage all those living this lifestyle to seek  His mercy today while you have life.  God has not changed the Law on male – female marriage.

God bless you.

What is the meaning of “world” in the Old Testament?

Let us clarify the meaning of the word “world” in Old Testament scriptures in order to understand how it should be used in different contexts. When Christ spoke of the end of the world, did He refer to the destruction of the physical structure or to the end of an era? The meaning of the end of the world is therefore critical to a correct interpretation of related prophecies.

This is the meaning of end of the world in the context in which it is used in the Old Testament:

a. In one context, the word world refers to the physical structure of the world, with the word earth used interchangeably as a synonym

Tebel (H 8398) is the physical structure of the world in Psalm 19: 4 and its cross references:

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun – Psalm 19:4
Isaiah 62 prophesies about restoration of Israel as a place that is inhabited by God.  ‘Erets is used for world in the phrase end of the world in verse 11.  When crossed referenced in scripture, it is seen that  ‘erets refers to earth and land.  In this context, world therefore refers to the announcement of the restoration of Israel in the uttermost parts of the world or in distant nations.
The same interpretation is true of “all the ends of the world” in Psalm 22, a prophecy about Christ on the cross.  The psalmist prophesied that people of distant nations would remember the Cross, turn to the Lord and worship the Lamb that was slain:

Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him  –Isaiah 62:11

All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee – Psalm 22:27
Finally, here is another text in which the ends of the world refers to the gospel being preached in distant regions of the planet:

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the worldRomans 10:18

16 But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed our message?”

17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

18 But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? Yes, they have: “The message has gone throughout the earth, and the words to all the world”  – (Romans 10: 16 – 18/New Living Translation)

SUMMARY
When used in the phrase “end of the world,” the word world in the Old Testament scriptures refers to the physical structure of the earth as seen in the synonyms Tebel (H 8398)  and ‘erets (H 776).  In the upcoming post, we will explore the meaning of “end of the world,” in the New Testament scriptures.

Review of the previous post

In the previous post I answered the question  What Is The Dividing (pĕlag/H6387) Of Times In The Holy Scriptures?  Based on my current understanding of the scriptures, I believe that the fourth beast will reign until God overturns its rule by overtaking the kingdom with the Kingdom of Christ. This will be timed by the appearance of the eleventh horn.

As I wrote last week’s post, I wondered how God counts times and eras – then the answer came clearly. I was reminded about the prophecy that Archangel Gabriel gave to Prophet Daniel about the TIMING of the Messiah’s birth. The Archangel said that Messiah’s arrival would be timed in 70 year Countdowns.

God counts time in 7s and we need to understand the prophetic significance of the Law of 7s in order to

  • correctly interpret the timing of events prophesied in the scriptures
  • understand the season of time in earth history and current affairs
  • understand our plan and purpose in the earth

God taught the Law of 7s  to the human race

Scriptures re veal that God set out the Law of 7s  to symbolize creation, full completion of an event and the onset of a new era.  Our Father God set the pattern for counting time in 7s and we see that early members of the human race understood and applied the  Principle or Law of 7s.

I see too, from the examples in scripture, that God revealed the Law of 7s to the entire human race and not just to the Jews who were selected as a nation of worshipers from the human rebels of earth.

The Law of 7s was therefore practiced by the Creator and therefore by our early ancestors:

  • 7 days of creation freed the earth from nothingness.
  • God rested on the 7th day, showing by example that the human body and spirit need to recuperate.
  • God commanded Noah to take the animals into the Ark by 7s before the flood.
  • God sent the flood 7 days after Noah and his family were safe in the Ark.
  • The ark rested in the 7th month, on the 17th day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat –  Genesis 8: 4.
  • Noah sent forth a dove to see if the water had abated from the earth, but it returned to the Ark. He waited for  7 days before sending it out again.
  • Noah waited another 7 days before sending out the dove, but it did not return. Seven + seven = 14. It took a double seven of time before the earth lost the waters and was recreated as in the beginning.
  • The earth dried on the 7 and 20th day of the second month.

Do you know that God sent the Flood because the people were too busy to include Him in their lives? The Father just told me that they never rested  much less  worshipped. They lived carefree lives of fun, parties, pleasure and drunkenness. Jesus told us that they were consumed with eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.

Jesus reveals too, that the earliest members of the human race  believed in and practiced male – female marriage and walked on two legs rather than on all fours – Luke 17: 27.

  • Lamech lived 777 years while everyone in his time lived to over 800 +.
  • Jacob, poor soul, served 7 years for Rachel.
  • Jacob bowed  7 times to the ground when he met his brother Esau after years of bitter separation.
  • King Pharaoh’s dream about 7 years of famine featured animals and ears of corn in  groups of  7s.

I asked the Father (an aside) why He didn’t reveal the imminent famine to Jacob. The response that Jacob did not have the resources to prepare and would have panicked.

God applied the  ceremonial laws of 7s in the Jewish Tabernacle:

  • 7 lamps in the Tabernacle.
  • the High Priest wore his garments for 7 days of ministry.
  • 7 days of consecration for the priests and the items pertaining to the Altar.
  • the priest dipped his finger in the sacrificial blood and sprinkled it 7 times before the vail of the sanctuary.

Laws of 7s related to health

  • a woman who delivered a male child was to remain unclean for 7 days.
  • 7 days of isolation for skin infections.

Laws of 7s applies to major feasts of the earth, as revealed to the Jews

  • In the fourteenth day (7+ 7) of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover – a double rest – Leviticus 23: 5.
  • The Feast of Unleavened bread began on on the fifteenth day of the first month – Leviticus 23: 6.
  • 7 days for the Feast of Unleavened bread, a rest and fast from leaven and lengthy work of bread making & giving of offerings to the Lord – Exodus 12: 15, 19, Leviticus 23: .
  • Count 7 sabbaths from the day after the Passover, then celebrate the Feast of Pentecost on the 50th day with firstfruit offerings to be waved to the Lord – Leviticus 23: 15.  Now we celebrate the Death & Resurrection of the Lord.
  • A memorial of blowing of trumpets is to be celebrated on the first day of the 7th Jewish month. It was a sabbath, , and a holy convocation unto the Lord – Leviticus 23: 34 – 40.
  • The tenth day of this 7th month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you. This is the time for the church to intercede for the nations
  • The fifteenth day of this 7th month shall be the Feast of tabernacles for 7 days unto the LORD – Leviticus 23: 34.
  • There was a 7 day celebration with waving of branches and dwelling in booths.  The booths symbolized the Blood washed Body/Tabernacle/House/Temple of Christ gathering in His House to worship and praise Him.

Law of 7s applies to Civil Law

  • Celebrate a Sabbath of Rest every 7th year – Leviticus 25: 4.
  • There was a Release of debts at the end of every 7 seven years – Deuteronomy 15.
  • The Jews were commanded to number 7 sabbaths of Years then to celebrate the Jubilee every 50th year – Leviticus 25: 8.
  • The Year of Jubilee was ushered with the trumpet of the Jubilee on the tenth day/day of atonement of the 7th month. This Divine parallel of the Day of Atonement with the ushering of the Year of Jubilee symbolized our freedom in Christ, a shadow of THINGS TO COME.
  • 70 years for the land to rest until the return from the captivity – divine punishment for rebellion and failure to enter the natural and spiritual rest of God.

The Law of 7s applied to the entrance of  Messiah

Other application of the Law of 7s

  • enemies would flee 7 ways if they attacked the obedient – Deuteronomy 28: 7
  • To conquer Jericho, God instructed that the army was to march around the city once a day for six days and 7 times on the 7th day. Seven priests carrying trumpets were to go before the ark and were to blow the trumpets on the 7th day. The army was commanded to shout when the priests made a long blast with the ram’s horn in order to topple the walls – Joshua 6: 4 (man/new season).
  • Samson had 7 miraculous locks of hair which were never cut – until Delilah.
  • Elijah told Naaman to wash 7 times in the Jordan in order to be healed of leprosy – 2 Kings 5: 10.
  • Jesus fed 4000 plus people with 7 loaves and got 7 baskets of bread at the end of the meal – Mark 8: 6 – 8.
  • The Book of Revelation is full of 7s.

Next time I will attempt  to show how God divides time into eras using the Law of 7s. However, I wrote previously about the Countdown to the Messiah, which is a classical example of how the Father measures time.We will not be lost and will actually become prophetic people when we understand and apply this Law of 7s. Halelujah.

Blessings, peace and angelic protection.  Here is my preliminary work:

Seven in the scriptures

1. How the dream began

Some time during the week of June 8th or thereabouts, I began to wonder “what would earth have been like if humans had never sinned?”  I would like to share some of my thoughts with you.

2. Humans would have been wealthy

Adam was a Gardener and was placed in the  Garden of Eden where he was responsible to:

  • till/dress/   the ground or to serve as a Gardener (Genesis 2: 5 & 15)
  • keep or preserve the Garden (Genesis 2: 15).

We see that Adam never lacked food.  However, he also had an assignment to extract the treasures that were hidden in the earth. These included gold, bdellium (pearl) and onyx (Genesis 2: 12). Scriptures mention other precious metals and jewels that God put in the earth for man’s use.

3. Why did Adam need wealth?

I believe that God intended earth to be patterned after heaven, like a miniature. Jesus told us to pray that God’s will or desire would be done in earth as it was done in heaven. If humans had never sinned, they would have lived forever. Death was never in the Original Plan. Therefore, Adam would have needed wealth for the following reasons:

a. for external ornamentation

  • God and the Angels wear jewelry (Rev 15: 6).
  • We read in scripture that Lucifer before his fall was opulently decorated. He was covered with precious stones – sardius, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, jasper, sapphire, emerald, carbuncle, and gold (Ezekiel 28 :13).
  • Compare this with Apostle John’s description of the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21.
  • Scriptures further confirm that God’s original plan was for humans to be richly dressed and decorated. The High Priest’s garments patterned that of Lucifer. He also wore a breastplate with four rows of jewelry – sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle (row 1); an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond (row 2); ligure, an agate, and an amethyst (row 3); beryl, an onyx, and a jasper (row 4)  – Exodus 39: 10 – 13.

b. to build and decorate houses – there are gorgeous mansions in heaven.

c. to build beautiful and gorgeous cities

  • The New Jerusalem which descended from heaven to earth was made of pure gold and the walls were made from another precious jewel called jasper.
  • The foundations were decorated with 12 different precious jewels. These jewels were jasper, sapphire, chalcedony,  emerald, sardonix, sardius, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus and amethyst.
  • God gave humans a priceless New Jerusalem which showed His intent for earth was to be patterned after heaven. This is the same way in which He gave Moses the pattern for the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. This Tabernacle was patterned after the one in heaven.
  • the gates of New Jerusalem are made from Pearl (Rev 21: 21).

d. to build streets – there are streets of gold in heaven.

e. to create work tools and other utensils

  •  the angel used a golden reed or staff to measure the New Jerusalem which descended from heaven. Reed is also interpreted as pen (Revelation 21: 15).
  • Heaven also has golden vials (Revelation 5: 8), golden censers (Rev 8: 3), golden crowns (Revelation 14: 14).
  • The use of golden utensils and utensils made from other precious metals such as silver and brass was patterned in Moses’ Tabernacle.

f. to transfer an inheritance to his descendants

  • God commanded Adam to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth. He was responsible for teaching countless generations of children how to preserve and explore the resources of the earth. They would have then gone on to make new discoveries about the treasures of the earth.

g. Other possibilities

The list is not exhaustive.  If humans had never sinned, Adam and his descendants would have used earth’s resources for:

  • space and under water exploration
  • scientific discoveries
  • discovery of the natural resources of the earth
  • other discoveries such as artistry, design and on and on.

My Prayer

Father, I thank you for your goodness and mercy to the humans that you created and placed in the earth for fruitfulness, multiplication and preservation of the earth and its resources. We have messed up, destroyed the earth and have not been responsible citizens.

Father, we lost much because of sin, but we humbly ask that you will show us how to regain what was lost.

Father, please be merciful to us. Show us the path of life in Jesus name I pray, Amen. Thank you Father.

1. INTRODUCTION

We began to explore the doctrine of the “old man” in post titled, The Old Man Is Not A Physical Being Of Flesh And Blood .  Based on the imagery and comparisons used, I believe that Apostle Paul referred to an invisible element of  the human being when he wrote about the “old man.”

I also wrote that The Old Man Must Be Spiritually Processed Into A New Man In Order To Exercise Authority Over The Forces Of Darkness.  Apostle Paul used the imagery of death to sins to paint a picture of the spiritual processing that the believer must undergo in order to become a new man in Christ.

2.  THE  CRUCIFIXION OF THE OLD MAN RESULTS IN THE DESTRUCTION OF THE BODY OF SIN

Apostle Paul then continued the imagery of death of the old man by teaching that the old man must be crucified with Christ in order for the body of sin to be destroyed.

What does the Apostle mean when he speaks of the body of sin? Is he speaking of the death of  a physical body? Does he mean that the believer must do penances for sin?

In order to solve the puzzle of the body of sin, we must explore the context in which Apostle Paul wrote. One KEY truth to remember is that  The Old Man Is Not A Physical Being Of Flesh And Blood:

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection

“the  old man is crucified with Him that the body/sōma/G4983 of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin

For he that is dead is freed from sin  (Romans 6: 4 – 7).

3.  THE USAGE OF THE WORD “BODY” IN THE PHRASE “BODY OF SIN”

Sōma/G4983  is  the Greek word used for Body in the text of Romans 6: 6. Cross references in related scriptures show that it is used to refer to the:

a. physical structure of flesh and blood or mortal body.

b. physical structure as the vehicle or house of  the human spirit.

Apostle Paul compared being In the body with being out of the body. In this out of body experience, the Apostle was caught up into the third heaven and saw things which he felt he could not speak about (2 Corinthians 12: 3).  Coninuing the imagery of the body as a house, the Apostle also spoke of  his spirit being “at home in the body … absent from the Lord” and absent from the body and present with the Lord  (2 Corinthians 5: 6 & 8).

When we explore the scriptures further, we see that Apostle Paul further referred to the physical body structure as the “outward man,” and to  the invisible spirit as “the inward man” and “inner man” His comparisons serve to remind me that the human spirit is not a vague, ghostly cloud, but a real, invisible being with a form similar to that of the outward man.

We also see from the Apostle’s writings that the human spirit or inner/inward man is a living organism with the characteristics of strength and renewal or growth through the power of the indwelling Spirit of God:

for I delight in the law of God after the inward man: G444     (Romans 7: 22)

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be  strengthened with might by his Spirit in the   inner manG444 (Eph 3: 16)

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man G444  perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day (2 Cor 4: 16)

Our dear Apostle Peter synonymously referred to the inner human spirit as the hidden man G444 of the heart.  The Apostle wrote about the virtues that God values in believing women and therefore exhorted women of faith to decorate themselves with the ornaments of  meekness and quietness:

But let it be the hidden man G444 of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price (1 Peter 3: 4)

c. spiritual or heavenly, incorruptible body

The spiritual body is the heavenly, eternal body  of God, Angels and Saints living in heaven.  Apostle Paul taught us that the spiritual body is celestial, spiritual, glorious, from heaven, immortal and incorruptible.

He then heightened our understanding by compared celestial bodies with the terrestrial, the natural body with the spiritual, the vile body with the glorious, the earthy and that which is from heaven, the mortal with the immortal body and the incorruptible resurrected body with the corruptible body of flesh. Again we see that the heavenly body has a structure similar to that of the human shape. Did not the scriptures teach that we are made in the image and likeness of God?  (1 Corinthians 15: 40 & 44 & 52 – 54;  Philipians 3: 21).

d. body of the Lord which was broken for us, to the body of Christ and to illustrate the unity of its parts and importance of the individual members, even though they appear to be menial.

4. CONCLUSION

After reviewing the scriptures, I believe that the body of sin to which Apostle Paul referred is the sinful old man or sinful human spirit. It seems to me that the Apostle  interchanged the phrases “old man” and “body of sin” in the text in much the same way that Apostle Peter interchanged the phrases “hidden man G444 of the heart” and meek and quiet spirit.  Apostle Paul knew that the “old man”  was the sinful human spirit  which is a synonym for the sinful, inner, inward man.

The human spirit, which the Apostles refer to as the inward man in both males and females, has a form or body like structure. It is this old, sinful spirit, which was born in sin and shaped in iniquity, that must be crucified or put to death on the cross with Christ destroyed so that the spiritual process of burial and resurrection can take place. The new man or new resurrected spirit is no longer a slave to sin, but becomes a servant of Christ:

… our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

1. THE FIRST TRUTH IS THAT THE OLD MAN IS SINFUL, A SERVANT OF SIN, CORRUPT, FULL OF LUST, A LIAR AND FULL OF EVIL DEEDS

I have been revisiting the Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden and recommenced with an explanation on What Did God Mean When He Sentenced Satan To Eat Dust, Eat Dirt Or Bite The Dust?  We learnt that when God commanded satan to eat the dust, He meant that the devil or serpent must bow down to, must fear and must be ruled by the human race.

Our study therefore progressed naturally to the spiritual authority that is deeded to believers in Christ. In the post titled  The Old Man Must Be Spiritually Processed Into A New Man In Order To Exercise Authority Over The Forces Of Darkness,”  I wrote that:

“Apostle Paul clearly shows in two parallel letters that there is an old man who must be processed spiritually in order to inherit the blessings of authority with Christ.”

I  began in the previous post The Old Man Must Be Spiritually Processed Into A New Man In Order To Exercise Authority Over The Forces Of Darkness, to explore the meaning of the Greek word anthrōpos or old man (G444).  The first truth I discovered is that  the old man is sinful, a servant of sin, corrupt, full of lust, a liar and full of evil deeds:

Knowing this, that our old man/anthrōpos G444   is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin – Romans 6: 6

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man/anthrōpos G444 which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts – Ephesians 4: 22.

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man/anthrōpos G444 with his deeds – Colossians 3: 9.

2. The old man IS NOT A PHYSICAL STRUCTURE OF FLESH AND BLOOD.

The second truth I discover is that The old man IS NOT A PHYSICAL STRUCTURE  OF FLESH AND BLOOD.  I believe that our beloved Apostle Paul wrote in a PARABLE when he said that

“the  old man is crucified with Him that the body of sin might be destroyed.”

Apostle Paul must certainly be writing in a parable because:

  • Jesus would have to be crucified anew in order for someone to receive salvation by faith through His finished work on the Cross.
  • Furthermore,  we would have to physically join our Lord on the cross in order for our body of sin to be destroyed.
  • Apostle Paul continued the parable when he spoke of himself being  “… crucified G4957 with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2: 20)
  • In his discourse about the “old man,” and his deeds, Apostle Paul obviously refers to an invisible element of the human being that cannot be seen
  • We can compare this discussion on the old man with the Apostle’s writings about the resurrection of the bodies of the believing dead or those who died in Christ. Here he refers to the human body as  a natural body, earthy, corruptible, mortal,  terrestrial and flesh and blood.  The Apostle made no attempt to refer to this pre – resurrected human physical structure as the “old man”   (1 Corinthians 15).
  • As I explored further, I discovered that the scriptures use earthly, earthly things, earthly house and things in earth as synonyms for the terrestrial body (epigeios.G1919)
  • There is certainly no attempt to equate this old physical body with the doctrine of the “old man.”

More to come. Blessings, peace, angelic prosperity and protection.

There is another Hebrew word for “Eternal” in the Old Testament scriptures

As I searched the scriptures via blueletterbible.org, I found two other Hebrew words which are used to denote “eternal.”  One of them is `ad  (H5703) which also means:

a. FOR EVER

i. used in reference to God being everlasting

The LORD [is] King for ever and ever – Ps 10: 16.

For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death – Ps 48: 14.

His praise endureth for ever –  Ps 111: 10.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given … His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace – Isa 9: 6.

ii. used in reference to the righteous and righteous living

The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue [is] but for a moment – Prov 12: 9.

If a king judges the poor fairly, his throne will last forever – Prov 19: 14.

The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever –  Ps 37: 29.

b. OF OLD

c. ETERNITY

i. God dwells in eternity, which is outside of the realm of earth time

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy – Isa 57: 14.

d. PERPETUAL – without an end

I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof (of Edom); because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever: – Amos 1: 11.

e. EVERLASTING

When he stops, the earth shakes. When he looks, the nations tremble. He shatters the everlasting mountains   – Hab 3: 6.

CONCLUSION

Eternity is timeless. It has no beginning and no end:

Before the mountains were brought forth, or before thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting (`owlam) to everlasting   (`owlam) , thou art God – Ps 90: 2.

1. NEW TESTAMENT CONVERSION SCRIPTURES HAVE AN EXACT MATCH IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

I ended the previous post by writing aboutJesus\’ quotation about conversion from Isaiah 6: 10.   Conversion is such an important doctrine that the Lord reminded the Jews about Isaiah’s prophecy, its fulfillment obvious even as He spoke to the disciples.   I then explored the meaning of conversion in the Old Testament scriptures by going to its exacat match in Isaiah 6: 10.

And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:

‘You will listen carefully yet will never understand,
you will look closely yet will never comprehend.

For the heart of this people has become dull;
they are hard of hearing,
and they have shut their eyes,
so that they would not see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their hearts
and turn, (
epistrepho/be converted) and I would heal them.’  (Matt 13: 14 – 15)

The match in Isaiah 6: 10 says:

Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and CONVERT, and be healed  (Isaiah 6: 10)

I found  that shuwb (shoob/H7725) is the Hebrew word used for CONVERT in the Isaiah 6: 10 text.  Shuwb has 952 matches,  showing  that conversion was referred to more in the Old than New Testament which has 38 matches:

2. CONVERSION IN  THE IN N THE OLD TESTAMENT ALSO MEANS TO RETURN TO GOD

I then explored the meaning of convert in the Old Testament by using Isaiah 6: 10 as the base text.  I found that  God constantly appealed to Israel through the Prophets and exhorted them to return to Him. This is still His call to modern nations:

Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up (Hos 6:1 [KJV])

O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity (Hos 14:1)

3. ENVIRONMENTAL CURSES THAT WARN NATIONS TO RETURN TO GOD

God used Israel as a prototype to speak to other nations. Their experiences have been given to us as an example and warning. Israel’s example and history reveals that God caused certain environmental situations to signal them nation to repent and to be converted. These situations emerge in the scriptures in which the Hebrew word shuwb is used to expose hidden revelation about conversion from national and personal sin.

Scripture reveals that God warns nations to be converted by sending famine, drought, agricultural pests, blight, plagues and sudden catastrophic events.

a. FAMINE AND DROUGHT

God revealed through the Prophet Amos that famine and drought were the results of rebellion.  In Amos 4: 9, the Prophet crossed reference Apostle Moses’ warning that God would send curses as judgment for rebellion.  Naitons should therefore analyze events taking place and consider the need to repent and to be converted:

“But surely I gave you no food to eat in any of your cities; you lacked food everywhere you live. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!

“I withheld rain from you three months before the harvest. I gave rain to one city, but not to another. One field would get rain, but the field that received no rain dried up.

People from two or three cities staggered into one city to get water, but remained thirsty. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!

“I destroyed your crops with blight and disease. Locusts kept devouring your orchards, vineyards, fig trees, and olive trees. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking! (Amos 4: 6 – 9 [NET])

b. AGRICULTURAL PESTS

God lamented that the Jews remained obstinate even though He had sent blasting, mildew and the palmerworm or locusts to kill their crops:

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD (Amos 4:9 [KJV])

Apostle Moses had also prophesied that this curses of blasting (shdephah/H7711/blight) and mildew would come on Israel if they refused to obey the Word of God.  This warning is found in Deuteronomy 28: 15 and 22:

“… if you ignore the LORD your God and are not careful to keep all his commandments and statutes I am giving you today, then all these curses will come upon you in full force

He will afflict you with weakness, fever, inflammation, infection, sword, blight, and mildew; these will attack you until you perish.”

Crops can be blasted by strong winds of  hurricane force strength.  On the other hand,  mildew (yeraqown) refers to paleness caused by fright. This is brought out rather amusingly in Jeremiah 30: 6 as the prophet compares the behavior of fearful males with that of a woman who becomes pale when she is in labor:

Ask yourselves this and consider it carefully: Have you ever seen a man give birth to a baby? Why then do I see all these strong men grabbing their stomachs in pain like a woman giving birth? And why do their faces turn so deathly pale/yeraqown?

While men may turn pale with fright, pale crops refer to the fading, parching and discoloration that occur in crops when there is a drought.

God also lamented that Israel refused to repent although they were plagued with palmerworm,  a kind of locust. The plague of locusts in Egypt was so terrible that the entire land was covered with darkness and every green plant was devouring. Coupled with the other plagues that destroyed its agriculture, Egypt was plunged into a period of  food shortage. Scriptures show that agricultural plagues and pests are environmental curses signaling the need for repentance and conversion.

d. PLAGUES DEATH SIMILAR TO THOSE OF EGYPT

I wrote in 2011 about the significance of the plagues of Egypt. Prophet Amos reveals that violent death of young people (young men in the text) is a sign of judgment.  Egypt lost the heir to the throne when Pharaoh’s firstborn was killed at midnight.  In the same manner, nations lose potential leaders, fathers, husbands, breadwinners when the young men are killed:

I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD (Amos 4:10 [KJV])

E. SUDDEN CATASTROPHIC EVENTS

God referred to Sodom and Gomorrah to remind nations of the earth that  He still judges homosexuality.  These  cities were suddenly destroyed and given NO opportunity to repent:

I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD (Amos 4:11 [KJV])

F. STRONG PROPHETIC ACTIVITY

God sends prophets to warn nations to obey His Word and to return to Him. Apostle Moses’ prophecy  in Deuteronomy 29 reveals that the curses of disobedience more than double the blessings of obedience.

Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts (Zech 1:3 [KJV]).

Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD (Zech 1:4 [KJV])

The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity (Mal 2:6 [KJV])

More to come!

In order to understand the mystery  of the 7 golden candlesticks, we need to make a comparison with the golden candlestick in Moses’ tabernacle and those seen in  Prophet Zechariah’s vision.  There is much truth to be derived from this teaching but this post gives a brief overview from which many hidden applications can be explored.  Here are 2 key truths:

Candlestick = the church (Rev 1: 20)

Lamp of fire = The Spirit of God in all His fullness aka the seven Spirits of God (Rev 4: 5; Isaiah 11)

Moses’ Tabernacle for the Church in the  Wilderness was  a depiction of the Throne in heaven Prophet Zechariah’s visionZechariah  4 Apostle John’s vision of God’s  Throne, Temple and Church  in heaven (Heb 12: 18-24)
Holy of Holies

Ark with the testimony inside = Jesus the Head of the Church in the  Wilderness (1 Cor 10: 1-6)

Mercy seat on the ark= throne of grace (Hebrews 4: 16)

Two cherubims facing each other = members of the God family

Their wings covered the mercy seat (Ex 25: 1-21)

God spoke to Moses from between the cherubims  (Ex 25: 22)

Vail separated holy place from the holy  of holies (Ex 25:

The High Priest alone entered once a year to make reconciliation for the sins of the nation

A Throne in heaven = The Temple of God = place of intercession, worship & servicea. God sits or rules on the throne. The Lamb/Jesus/God is also in the midst of the Throne – 7 horns and eyes/fullness of  God (Rev 5: 6). b. Spiritual position of the elders/pattern for church of earth:

24 elders & 4 living creatures are in front of the throne (Rev 4: 4)

They declare worship, fall down & cast down their  crowns in recognition of God’s authority (Rev 4: 8-11)

The 24 elders & 4 living creatures hold harps & golden vials full of aromatic prayers of the saints (Rev 5: 8)

The elders & living creatures lead in intercession, singing and falling down in worship (Rev 5: 8 – 14)

An innumerable number of angels join in the worship (Rev 5: 8-14). They do so when we worship on earth after that manner.

c. Spiritual authority of the elders (Rev 5 & 6)

AFTER  the elders pray & worship, Jesus unseals the Book of Judgment & judges earth on behalf of His persecuted church  (Rev 6 & 7).

The ELDERS are the intercession & worship leaders in the heavenly church. They are shameless in their adoration and put away their accolades to honor God

 d. The saints serve God

The redeemed Jews & Gentiles worship & serve God day & night before the Throne and He dwells with them (Rev 7).

NB: The 144,000 represent the firstfruits of the gospel – the number of Jews who first believed, then took the gospel to the Gentiles. Study the sequence in both texts.  The Jews are first, AFTER WHICH the nations appear in heaven  (Rev 7 & 14: 1-7)

Jesus teaches them His Word (Rev 7: 17)

e. The Spirit of God fills His Church

7 lamps of fire or the Spirit of God burn  in front of the throne (Rev 4: 5).  “Seven” represents the fullness of the Spirit of God in the redeemed church (Isaiah 11; Rev 5: 6).

I made this deduction because the  7 lamps of fire are always placed on top of the 7 candlesticks/church.

f. The Spiritual Position of the Church of Jesus is revealed

We are seated in heavenly places in Christ & dwelling in the Presence of God (Eph 2: 6; Col 3: 1-3). We worship & serve Him day and night and allow Him to teach us.

The Spirit of God= the nature of God = God Himself  is the Lamp of the church -manifested in might, knowledge, counsel, discernment  etc (Isa 11)

The elders are positioned closest to God in relationship & bring the church into favor & the presence with God.

 g.  The Spiritual authority of the church is revealed (Rev 8)

There is also an altar in front of the throne.

An angel places the fragrant prayers of the saints into a golden censer (presented by the elders & living creatures).

He offers it on the altar with incense

God inhales the fragrance and responds by avenging His saints.

The angel takes fire from the altar, places it into the censer, then casts the fire and prayers into the earth

There are changes in the earth – voices, thunders, lightning, an earthquake, destruction in the earth.

The subsequent judgments result from the prayers of the saints, worship & intercession of the elders.

Holy Place

Table with  showbread  (Ex 25: 23 – 30)

Golden candlestick = Jesus

7 branches  = The CHURCH (Rev 1: 20)

Seven Lamps on the golden candlesticks  = the Spirit of God filling the church (Rev 4: 5).

The light was NEVER to be extinguished  (Ex 25: 31-37)

There was a clear separation between the holy place and the holy of holies (Ex 26: 33-37)

A golden candlestick with  7 lamps.

Candlestick = Jesus

7 lamps = the church (Rev 1: 20)

Seven pipes went to the  7 lamps= the Spirit of God filling the church (Rev 4: 5)

Two olive trees stood on either side of the candlestick

The two olive trees empty their oil into the candlesticks

The angel revealed that the 2 olive trees were the two anointed ones that stand by the Lord of the whole earth

Meaning: God reveals the relationship of  the other two members of the God Family/Trinity/Godhead to the Church of Jesus.

See them in Revelation 11 as the 2 witnesses

Court of the tabernacle  (Ex 26 & 27)Separated the outside from the holy place.  Its borders were  surrounded  by curtainsHad a gate

Had an altar of sacrifice

This altar is symbolic of cleansing, prayer and worship (Hebrews 13: 10-15)
